Her books are really rereadable, though!Rosariohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13015659149421085931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-69616194296950381522014-07-08T00:00:44.761+01:002014-07-08T00:00:44.761+01:00It's so nice to see someone review a book that...It's so nice to see someone review a book that I adore. Her older books are my favorites. Loved this one, and Port of Paradise. Another oldie, Homecoming, is another one of my favorites.

You're right about her humor, I didn't think about that, it definitely makes the stories, and her voice, stand out.Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02696267837605937403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-3911910801159947862014-07-03T20:01:11.075+01:002014-07-03T20:01:11.075+01:00Fernande: I have really fond memories of Port of P...Fernande: I have really fond memories of Port of Paradise! Her latest have been so different from these. It's not just that they don't have as much humour, it's that they're almost humourless. Sigh.Rosariohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13015659149421085931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-6978236093559992302014-07-03T19:36:01.386+01:002014-07-03T19:36:01.386+01:00Darlynne: Yes, it was the original, I bought it ag...Darlynne: Yes, it was the original, I bought it ages and ages ago. I do hope she didn't change very much! I hate it when they update the details, so you'll be reading a book from 10 years ago and they'll be reading on their kindle.

From what I've heard, the Murphy's Law descriptions originally said nothing about it being a rerelease, so no wonder people got upset. Plus, I guess if you pick this up expecting what LMR usually writes, you might be a bit disconcerted about getting something with so little romance!Rosariohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13015659149421085931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-47702362705590852962014-07-03T19:07:53.776+01:002014-07-03T19:07:53.776+01:00Sorry, I didn't mean to post as anonymous...Sorry, I didn't mean to post as anonymous...Fernandenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-19382814525838039852014-07-03T19:06:01.366+01:002014-07-03T19:06:01.366+01:00Hi Rosario, I have indeed read Dying for Siena and...Hi Rosario, I have indeed read Dying for Siena and loved it: for the humour, the wonderful sense of place (sadly, I've never been to Tuscany) and for Faith's coming into her own as a brilliant and valued mathematician. The tone reminds me of two other of her books written as Lisa Marie Rice: A Fine Specimen, and Port of Paradise. Clever, funny and sexy and absolutely no paranormal goings on. I also liked the affection she has for her Italian characters, without any condescension. And Nick was a real sweetie once he got a clue.
Cheers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-57716478443578937892014-07-03T17:16:39.017+01:002014-07-03T17:16:39.017+01:00Siena. *sigh*Siena. *sigh*Darlynnenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730322.post-35963130953834312402014-07-03T17:15:57.332+01:002014-07-03T17:15:57.332+01:00Also, GR readers are rather upset, to put it mildl...Also, GR readers are rather upset, to put it mildly, about the re-release. Since the new edition is the only one available digitally, and since I've never read LMR, I have nothing to lose. Plus: Sienna! MURPHY'S LAW it is. Such a dilemma.Darlynnenoreply@blogger.com
