2005 Reading Year in Review - Part 1: Number read

Being a database freak, I track every single detail of what I read, so I just can't not do a "year in review" thingie! I can't do that to myself. And still, I recognize that there's little that's more tedious to read than pages and pages of statistics about someone else's reading. So I'll compromise. I'll post it all, but in bite size pieces.

Today, Part 1: How many books did I read? The total number is... *drumroll, please* 297 books.

That's a much higher number than what I read in previous years. In fact, my number of books read seems to be growing year by year.

2001 - 196 books
2002 - 249 books
2003 - 250 books
2004 - 261 books
2005 - 297 books

However, if I look at the number of pages read, the number is this:

2001 - 63.649 pgs - average - 325
2002 - 77.270 pgs - average - 310
2003 - 78.897 pgs - average - 316
2004 - 78.471 pgs - average - 301
2004 - 78.702 pgs - average - 265

...which kind of brings me back to Earth. I actually read about the same as in 2003 and 2004, I just read some shorter books. For instance, I read 30 books that were under 200 pages, and 6 that were under 120. That probably shows I've been reading more ebooks and not finishing some anthologies...
